The building of the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of the Arts is a building in St. Petersburg, between Bolshaya Morskaya Street (building 38) and the Moika River Embankment (building 83), which belonged to the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts since the 1870s. Mesmakher, in 1890-1893 - according to the design of I. S. Kitner. The building housed, among other things, the Drawing School and the Art and Industrial Museum of the Society, apartments. In 1926 the building was nationalized[2]. Since 1932, the building housed the Leningrad Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR (LOSKh), and later its successor, the St. Petersburg Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia. In 2001, the “House of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts with Outbuildings” was recognized as a monument of urban development and architecture of federal significance
